SAP Enterprise Portal (NetWeaver Portal) 7.5 is SAP's classic Java-based portal for unified web access to SAP and non-SAP applications, content and self-services — long the front door to SAP landscapes before Fiori and cloud work zones.
It first shipped around 2015. SAP mainstream maintenance runs until 31 December 2027 — beyond which no further support packages, legal updates or standard fixes are produced by SAP for this version. For customers who opt in, a paid extended-maintenance phase then carries support to 31 December 2030, after which only customer-specific maintenance remains available. That leaves a workable but finite window; given that SAP transformations routinely run multi-year, scoping and budgeting should be underway rather than deferred.
The successors are SAP Build Work Zone and SAP BTP-based experiences, with Fiori launchpad covering many former portal scenarios. Migration is a UX re-platforming exercise rather than a portal upgrade.
Organisations still delivering employee or partner portals on EP 7.5 should plan the move to Work Zone / BTP; running on the NetWeaver 7.5 stack, the portal inherits the same Business Suite 7 deadlines.
