SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) 11.0 is SAP's on-premise international-trade and customs-compliance application, automating export and import controls, sanctioned-party and denied-party screening, customs filing, and trade-preference and free-trade-agreement management for organisations with cross-border operations. For regulated traders it is mission-critical infrastructure, not a back-office nicety.
It became generally available on 3 June 2015. SAP mainstream maintenance ended 31 December 2025 — beyond which no further support packages, legal updates or standard fixes are produced by SAP for this version. Crucially, SAP offers no extended-maintenance phase for this release, so the mainstream date is a hard cut-off rather than the start of a paid extension — there is no buying of extra time at the version level. Systems still on this release are now running without standard SAP support, which is a security, compliance and audit exposure that should be closed quickly.
The successor is SAP Global Trade Services, edition for SAP HANA, which modernises the same compliance scope on a current platform. Migration follows a defined upgrade path rather than a re-implementation, but it still warrants careful planning because any interruption to screening or customs capability carries direct regulatory and operational risk.
Trade-compliance, logistics and IT teams running GTS 11.0 should schedule the move to the HANA edition ahead of the cut-off, as no extended-maintenance phase is offered. For businesses where a lapse in sanctions screening or customs filing can halt shipments or breach regulations, treating this as a compliance deadline rather than a routine IT upgrade is the right posture.
