SAP Data Intelligence 3 is SAP's data-integration, orchestration and metadata-management platform (the successor to SAP Data Hub), used to build and govern data pipelines across SAP and non-SAP sources.
It became generally available on 20 March 2020. SAP mainstream maintenance runs until 31 December 2026 — beyond which no further support packages, legal updates or standard fixes are produced by SAP for this version. Crucially, SAP offers no extended-maintenance phase for this release, so the mainstream date is a hard cut-off rather than the start of a paid extension — there is no buying of extra time at the version level. With the deadline close, organisations still on this release have little slack left and should already be executing — not just planning — their move.
Its capabilities are being integrated into SAP Datasphere, which is the strategic destination for SAP's cloud data fabric. Customers on Data Intelligence should plan their move toward Datasphere as the converged offering.
Data-engineering and integration teams running Data Intelligence should note its defined mainstream date and treat Datasphere as the forward path, sequencing pipeline migration ahead of the cut-off.
