SAP Commerce Cloud is the SaaS generation of SAP's enterprise e-commerce platform, running as an SAP-managed service on Microsoft Azure (the offering widely known as CCv2). It carries the Hybris platform heritage — the same Java/Spring core, type system and extension model — while replacing the legacy Accelerator storefronts with the headless Composable Storefront and moving from versioned upgrades to continuous delivery.

Individual releases within the service carry their own short windows, but customers are kept current automatically rather than facing a version cliff.
As SAP's only strategic commerce platform it is the destination rather than a product with a successor: release 2205 was the final on-premise version, so customers facing its 31 July 2026 end of mainstream maintenance move here. That move is a re-platforming project rather than a lift-and-shift — storefront modernisation is typically the largest workstream.
Digital-commerce and platform teams still running SAP Commerce on-premise are the core audience, with the on-premise deadline making the Commerce Cloud decision urgent rather than optional for storefronts that must stay patched and peak-season ready.
