Overview

SAP HR was the human-resources module of SAP R/3 — personnel administration, organizational management, payroll and time evaluation — and one of the original pillars of SAP's integrated ERP.

It shipped with R/3 in the early 1990s and evolved continuously; the same code line later became SAP ERP HCM under SAP ERP 6.0.

The lineage runs on to SAP HCM for S/4HANA and, strategically, to SAP SuccessFactors in the cloud.
