Overview

SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM) is SAP's application for transportation planning, freight-order management, execution and freight settlement. It began as a standalone SAP Business Suite application (evolving from TP/VS through TM 8.0 to TM 9.6, the last standalone release) that integrated with SAP ERP.

Mainstream maintenance for standalone TM 9.6 runs until 31 December 2027, after which support continues only under restricted maintenance models.

Since SAP S/4HANA 1709 (2017) TM has been embedded in the digital core, and all future enhancements are delivered there — either as embedded TM inside S/4HANA or as a standalone (side-by-side) S/4HANA TM system. The classic ECC predecessor was LE-TRA.
